A Doncaster man has been jailed for 14 months over an illegal money-lending operation which investigators say involved more than £950,000 being advanced in loans and an anticipated return of more than £1.7 million. Philip Lister, 64, traded as Phil's Autos and had previously been authorised to lend money, but that permission expired in 2015. Investigators identified at least 1,290 loans during the offending period. More than £64,000 in cash was also reported to have been found at his business during the investigation.
