Barnsley are reported to be weighing up a move for the Jamaica international Daniel Johnson, who is currently a free agent.
The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk.
Johnson has extensive Championship experience, including a long spell with Preston North End.
Reports say he is due to undergo medical checks at Oakwell before any move is formally completed.
At the moment, he has not yet been officially announced as a Barnsley player.
If completed, the move would add considerable experience to Daniel Stendel's squad.
