A man from Doncaster who groomed and sexually abused a teenager after contacting her on Snapchat has been jailed.
Shoaib Mohammed, 35, of Kentmere Drive, Doncaster, was sentenced at Leicester Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 29 October) after pleading guilty to nine child sexual offences.
He was jailed for 11 years and made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 15 years.
The victim was just 14 when Mohammed first contacted her online in April 2021. Over the following months, he groomed her before persuading her to travel to Sheffield, where he sexually abused her over three days.
Following the conclusion of the case, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have had contact with Mohammed or has concerns about his behaviour to come forward. Mohammed was known to use the Snapchat handle 'shabzique91'.
If you have information about Mohammed or wish to report a sexual offence, contact police online or call 101.
