Plans that could bring more than 200 additional homes into Rotherham town centre are moving forward.
Rotherham Council is using £2.42 million of regeneration funding for further development work and feasibility studies on five brownfield sites alongside developer Capital&Centric. The latest early-stage proposals indicate around 226 homes could be developed across The Statutes and two Sheffield Road sites, including apartments and townhouses.
Other sites are being considered for mixed commercial and residential uses, while the wider development contract could eventually reach a value of up to £100 million if later stages are approved.
