Major work on Castle Street in Sheffield city centre begins next week, with the latest phase of the Connecting Sheffield programme starting during the week beginning Monday 12 October.
The project will include upgraded bus stops, wider and improved walking routes, safer pedestrian crossings, a new two-way cycle route and better links to Castle Hill Park.
The first phase focuses on the junction of Castle Street, Waingate and Haymarket. Waingate will be closed to uphill traffic during this initial phase, which is expected to continue until early November.
Some bus stops will also temporarily move while the work takes place.
The full project is expected to be completed in Spring 2027.
