Changes to how some planning applications are referred to councillors come into force at the end of this month.
Most planning applications are already determined by professional planning officers.
However, from Saturday 31 October, a new national Scheme of Delegation will change which applications must be referred to elected planning committees.
The change forms part of national planning reforms rather than a Doncaster-only policy.
It could change which developments come before councillors for a vote.
